This season has already delivered some unforgettable moments — and now we’re proud to share one that hits different.
Griffin Van Essen has officially been selected to represent Switzerland at the 2026 FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships in Calgary. And he’s not just on the team — he’s the youngest athlete ever to represent Switzerland in Junior Worlds Freeski Halfpipe.
That’s history.
Calgary’s world-class pipe will host the next generation of global park and pipe talent from February 25 – March 8. This is where progression meets pressure. Where amplitude, style and execution matter. Where future World Cup and Olympic riders make their mark.
“I am super proud to represent Switzerland at the junior worlds in Calgary. Keen to go there with my clutch coach @peterlegnavsky and my dad @bertjanindavos and the Swiss Ski team. Wearing Colourwear!”
His approach to halfpipe goes beyond tricks. Early mornings on the trampoline. Countless reps dialing grabs. Building consistency, amplitude and control. Session after session refining lines with his crew. The work behind the scenes is what makes the runs look effortless.
That mindset is exactly why we back him.
At Colourwear, we build outerwear for riders who earn every meter of vert. Gear that keeps you dry through long training days, warm during cold pipe sessions, and unrestricted when it’s time to boost. Griffin represents the new generation of freeski — driven, grounded, and pushing progression the right way.
From home sessions to the international stage, he’s repping Switzerland — and doing it in Colourwear.
What’s next?
The 2026 FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships run February 25–8 March in Calgary — and we’ll be cheering loud as Griffin takes his place among the world’s best. Stay tuned for updates from the hill, insights from his run, and highlights from the Swiss team’s campaign.
Youngest ever. Just getting started.
Ride hard. Stand proud. Go Griffin.
